Former Mayor Art Eggleton proclaimed the late Reggae king’s birthday Bob Marley Day in Toronto back in 1991 and the City of Toronto has been celebrating ever since!
In 2018 Toronto Reggae and Canadian Reggae World sent a formal request to the City of Toronto to change the iconic Toronto sign at City Hall to honour Bob on his birthday! Reggae history was created when the sign was lit up to honour Marley and Rastafari in 2019!
